Fager Annie is a good choice for horses who you would describe as the following:
- Can be worried in the mouth on a regular double jointed bit
- Reluctant to soften down into the bit
- Can overreact when you take the reins
- Can get on and off in the contact
Annie is a double-jointed titanium bit with laying joints.
The Horizontal joints will lay flat against the tongue and palate to give a more gentle pressure on the tongue than vertical joints. This can be good for horses that can overreact when you take the reins and need to keep the consistent contact through every movement. It's also a good option for horses with a low palate.
Titanium is a tasteless metal which naturally adapts to the temperature of the mouth, encouraging the horse to accept the bit and be more comfortable.
We usually recommend a Titanium bit for sensitive mouthed horses who can react to other metals e.g. red marks or sores developing, despite a soft contact from the hands.
Titanium gives a super light feeling in the hand and quicker response when compared to a heavier bit, particularly when combined with the correct mouthpiece for the individual horse.
If you are searching for a gentle, kind bit for a sensitive horse that can overreact to a double jointed bit with vertical joints, we would definitely recommend trying Fager Annie.
Note; Vendela has the same mouthpiece as Annie. Annie is the snaffle version = normal snaffle rings. Vendela is the bradoon version = smaller rings.
