Fager Dylan is a good choice for horses who you would describe as the following:

• Can be worried in the mouth but get too stiff on a lockup bit or straight bit
• Can open its mouth and pull the reins or fall behind the hand.
• Requires encouragement to seek out the contact and keep a consistent contact.
• Can overreact when you take the reins
• Can get on and off in the contact

Dylan is a double-jointed sweet iron bit with laying joints and a tongue relief.

The Horizontal joints will lay flat against the tongue and palate to give a more gentle pressure on the tongue than vertical joints. This can be good for horses that can overreact when you take the reins and need to keep the consistent contact through every movement. It's also a good option for horses with a low palate, thanks to the laying joints.

Sweet iron is a covering on top of a bit made of stainless steel. We have both grey and blue sweet iron coatings.

The purpose is to disguise the metal taste from stainless steel and create a pleasant, sweet taste, encouraging the horse to seek more contact and hold on to the bit.
